Free Mississippi Mass Choir Concert Tonight

With the extended weekend, getting out tonight might not be a bad idea, aye? If you’re looking for something to do, then perhaps a free concert may be just what the doctor ordered.

As part of the 42nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Convocation, the Mississippi Mass Choir will belt out music for your soul at no cost to you. The event starts at 7 p.m. at Rose E. McCoy Auditorium on the campus of Jackson State University and also features stirring performances by Poetry Out Loud champions Amber Rose Johnson and John Eze Uzodinma. (Make sure to check out this BBC video featuring Amber.)

This event is hosted by the Margaret Walker Alexander National Research Center. For additional information, contact the Margaret Walker Center at 601.979.3935 or
