Forum on “Housing in West Jackson”
Once upon a time, there was a little forum that started in a small corner of Koinonia Coffee House. That forum has since grown to become Koinonia Friday Forum–a weekly event that packs this West Jackson cafe/venue.
Friday Forums are sponsored by the Jackson Chamber of Commerce, and the vast success of these community discussions have led the Chamber to take the conversation on the road.
As a supplement to the ongoing Friday Forums, the Jackson Chamber of Commerce will begin a series of forums throughout the city–starting first in West Jackson.
Tomorrow’s Community Forum (March 8th at 6 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 1072 John R. Lynch St.), will focus on Housing in West Jackson. Confirmed panelists for the forum include:
- Alice Harden, Senator, Mississippi District 28 and President, West Central Jackson Improvement Association
- Kimberly Hilliard, Director, JSU Center for University-Based Development
- Blonda Mack, President, Washington Addition Neighborhood Association
- Patricia Williams, Deputy Director of Housing, City of Jackson
While tomorrow’s event includes a panel, the forum seeks to encourage dialog between the panelists and the audience and, ultimately, to get Jacksonians excited about the many opportunities of housing in West Jackson.
