Gubernatorial Candidate to visit West Jackson
Campaign signs are sprouting up in the grass and flyers are adding a tinge of color to our doorways. Somewhere between spring and summer is the campaign season; but unfortunately, as with most elections, many votes are requested but few are cast. Nevertheless, every year is a new chance to encourage more people to participate in America’s democracy.
At last week’s Koinonia Friday Forum, West Jackson resident, Tyrone Hendrix, announced that gubernatorial candidate, Johnnie Dupree, would be hosting a conversation right here in West Jackson about increasing jobs and improving education throughout the state . The event will take place tomorrow, June 9th, at 6:30 p.m. at the newly renovated COFO Complex (located at the intersection of Rose and John R. Lynch Streets, near the JSU Baseball Field).
Of course, we do not provide candidate endorsements and want to be clear: this post is NOT an endorsement of any particular candidate for public office. However, we do want to make sure you know when you have a chance to participate in the political process.
