Youth Employment Summer Program, Deadline Today
Mayor Chokwe Lumumba pushed for jobs for youth by establishing the “Summer Youth Employment Program.” Although the mayor is no longer with us, his summer program is still moving forward. All youth, ages 16-24 should apply to get a job for the summer.
They are looking to hire 300 youth and you must complete an application by today, March 3, by 4:00 pm. All applicants must provide proof of parent’s income, copy of birth certificate, copy of social security card, and a school ID, drivers license or Mississippi ID. Once the application is complete, turn it in to the Human and Cultural Services Department at the Jackson Metro Center Mall, Suite 101.
Interviews will be scheduled after the application is received.
