Lemonade Day Results

Lemonade Day is a national event that took place this past Saturday. Jackson State University’s Metro Jackson Community Prevention Coalition (MJCPC) and the Center for University-Based Development (CUBD) partnered with Galloway Elementary School and the students and parents were grateful for this opportunity to participate in an amazing journey of entrepreneurship.

Below are the results per lemonade stand.

Justice Baylis: Justice’s Roar! Jungle Lemonade Stand was setup at the JSU Walter Payton Complex. Justice was accompanied by her mother. Revenue: $98.00 (sales) + $15.00 (tips) = $113.00 (total revenue).She sold 98 cups of lemonade. Justice said she learned “not to be shy and speak up to the customers.” Justice plans to donate 20% of her profit to the Children’s Hospital.

Shimere Milton: Shimere’s Magical Lemonade Stand operated at the JSU Walter Payton Complex. Shimere was accompanied by her mother and sister. Revenue: $120.00 (sales) + $10.00 (tips) = $130.00 (total revenue). 60 cups sold. Shimere said she learned that “I can become a business woman and it can be profitable. I talked to people who taught me about being an entrepreneur.” Sheimere plans to donate 10% of her profit to Operation Shoe String.

Kristyona Sutton: Kristyona’s Lemonade stand operated at JSU’s College of Business. Kristyaona was accompanied by her mother and brother. Revenue: $158.00 (sales) + $20.35 (tips) = $178.35 (total revenue). 60 cups sold. Kristyana said she learned “you can make your own money without working over and over.” Kristyana plans to donate 10% of her profit to the Children’s Hospital.

Kiara Walker: Kiara’s Sugar and Spice Lemonade stand operated at the Jackson Medical Mall. Kiara was accompanied by her mother and grandmother. Revenue: $133.00 (sales) + $21.00 (tips) = $154.00 (total revenue). 30 cups sold and various other items. Kiara said she learned “making a lemonade stand is hard work and a lot of responsibility”. Kristyona plans to donate 10% of her profit to the Baptist Hospital.
