Mrs. Willie Mae Shirley was JSU’s Seniors College Homecoming Queen

JSU’s Homecoming week brought many activities for students, faculty, staff and community residents. This year the JSU Seniors College nominated Mrs. Willie Mae Shirley as their Homecoming Queen. This nomination put a smile on her face because it showed JSU’s appreciation for her work in the community and her dedication to JSU.

Mrs. Shirley participates in all the enrichment classes offered by JSU’s Senior College. These classes include money management, book clubs, and computer lessons.

There are 163 members of the Seniors College and Mrs. Willie Mae Shirley is the oldest. She is 91 years old and was thrilled to be nominated as the Seniors College Homecoming Queen.

Mrs. Willie Mae Shirley is a long time resident of Washington Addition and is an active community member. For more information about all the work she has done in her community check out the link below.
