WJ Block Party, Friday
Over the past year, residents in West Jackson worked hard to create a guidebook for the West Jackson community. The purpose of the guidebook was to gather information about West Jackson that residents could use to gain political, social and economic power to improve their neighborhoods.
On Friday, September 18th, residents of the West Jackson Community will be hosting a Block Party from 5 pm to 7:30 pm. The party will take place at 1433 Grand Avenue and will feature live music, the Zoo Mobile, and a performance by the Purple Diamonds. They want more people in the community to engage in the usage of the guidebook and believe having a interactive block party will get people involved. The event will also promote and highlight all the positive work happening in West Jackson.
The event is free and open to West Jackson residents.
