Pictures from Stewpot’s Little Free Library Ceremony
On February 24th, community partners met at Stewpot’s Community House to unveil the 3rd Little Free Library in West Jackson. There were over 100 children from the after school program in attendance and excited to see the new library. Every child was able to pick a book they wanted and take it home with them. These books were donated by the Center for University-Based Development at JSU.
The Little Free Library is a place where children can get free books and people can share their favorite books. The concept is “take a book, return a book.” The Little Free Library is for everyone so the books can represent a diverse age group, with the emphasis on children.
This Little Free Library was sponsored by the Center for University-Based Development, the Zoo Area Progressive Partnership, Repurposed Projects, and Stewpot.
If you are interested in donating books, please just drop off the books at Stewpot. For more information please call 601-353-2759.
