Owner of Jackson Advocate will Speak at the Welcome Center, Tuesday
The JSU Welcome Center will host a seminar to celebrate Women’s History Month on Tuesday, March 29 from noon to 1 pm. The guest speaker is Alice Thomas-Tisdale, owner and publisher of the Jackson Advocate newspaper in Jackson, Miss.
She will share information about her experience in working with Charles Tisdale, her beloved husband and original publisher of the Jackson Advocate, and her passions for community building, HIV/AIDS education and foreign travel. The recipient of more than 200 awards and certificates, journalist Thomas-Tisdale will also talk about entrepreneurial opportunities and strategies for success for women who aspire to work with the Black Press.
The seminar is free and open to the community. They will have refreshments and door prizes. Please RSVP at (601) 979-0883.
