For the past three weeks, Common Ground Covenant Church has been hosting a Community Night at Claiborne Park and it features live bands, free food, and family friendly games.

This event has been postponed due to the weather. They have rescheduled the event for September 10 from 11 am to 3 pm. they will host their last Community Night event and it will feature several West Jackson restaurants. It is called “Taste of West Jackson” and the food will be judged by Chef Nick Wallace and Chef Lee Harper.

There will be awards in the form of plaques for Crowd Favorite and the Judge’s Favorite. The event starts at 6 pm and voting ends at 8:15 pm. The winners will be announced at 8:30 pm.

During the event the stage program will consist of local music acts and you will hear from local entrepreneurs and business owners about economic development in West Jackson!
