The 2017 Taste of West Jackson was another success this year with nearly 1,000 participants. The event was hosted by Common Ground Covenant Church and is a local food festival featuring restaurants and caterers from the west side of the city.

The community showed up at Claiborne Park, where a myriad of performing artists, local restaurants, vendors, and activities for children where on display in with perfect weather.

The purpose of the Taste of West Jackson is to enhance the economic development in our community by supporting our surrounding businesses.

2nd Place – Sarah’s Cakes
Honorable Mention – Chi Town Salads and Sandwiches
Crowd Favorites: 1st Place – Sarah’s Cakes
2nd Place – Chef Phillip Brown

Other restaurants that competed were E & L Barbeque, MC Catering and Ooh Lala’s Bakery.

Great community event for West Jackson!
Looks like good food, good fun and good cause!

  2. This looks like big fun! If I could have been in two places at once, I would have made it this year. Next year, it will be a can’t miss for me. Thanks for sharing. LJ
