Free Tax Services at JSU, VITA Site
The JSU Accounting Society is hosting an on-campus VITA site for the 2017 income tax filing season. VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, a program sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service. This program is an effort to provide free income tax preparation services to low-income individuals.
The JSU Accounting Society will electronically file returns on site and provide direct deposit of tax refunds into tax payers’ bank accounts.
JSU VITA Site operating hours are listed below.
Please come the College of Business in suite 201 to file your taxes.</strong
They will prepare the following:
o Forms 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ
Child Tax Credits
American Opportunity Credit
o Schedules A, B, C-EZ
o Earn Income Tax Credit
They will NOT prepare:
o Form 1040NR (must call for appointment 601-979-2699)
o Schedules C, D, E, F, SE
o Form 5405
All clients must have the following documents before receiving service
1) Photo identification of taxpayer and spouse
2) Social security cards for taxpayer, spouse & all dependents (copies acceptable)
3) All income documents i.e. W-2′s, 1099′s, etc…
4) Form 1095-A if health insurance purchase from marketplace
