Blackburn Students Grow Greens, Host Greens Cook-Off

JSU’s Center for University-Based Development (CUBD) has partnered with Blackburn Middle School to create a learning garden.  Over the past few months students from Blackburn planted collard greens and grew several bushels.  They recently harvested the greens and froze them for their upcoming Greens Cook-off, scheduled for Friday, December 14, 2018.

Students will prepare greens on site and the cook-off will take place at 1:00 pm at Blackburn.  We are seeking judges to participate in the tasting of the greens and vote on the best pot of greens.

For more information please email Ms. Jones at beljones@jackson.k12.ms.us or to be a judge email Heather Wilcox at heather.a.wilcox@jsums.edu.
