Pecan Park Gives Back to Girls at Hardy Middle School
More than 40 individuals, five churches and five (5) neighborhoods associations combined their efforts to provide more than 200 holiday personal gift sets to encourage learning and commitment at Hardy Academy of Career Exploration.
Every girl received a set and additional sets were provided to staffers, in some instances the staff donated the gift sets back to the school to retain for students as needed.
Rep. Alyce Clarke, Mississippi House District 69 leads the organization (Pecan Park Neighborhood Association ) that has taken on the role to mentor 6th graders females at Hardy and provide some level of support for a Career Speakers Bureau for the 7th and 8th grade females at Hardy. Working Together works is a standard that Clarke lives by daily. She is eternally grateful to Mt. Nebo, Pleasant Gift Baptist Church, Third Temple COGIC, Calvary Baptist Church and St. Luther Missionary Baptist Church and their representatives who provided donations and or gave of their time to provide gift and package the gifts sets.
Bridges, Clarke and Course were also elated that Jayne Avenue, Matthew Estates, Sylvenglen, and Westland Plaza Neighborhood Association joined their Association to show their support to Hardy.

What a blessed event! Thanks for this story of sharing, caring and showing love!
This is what life is all about!
It is so nice for this group of lovely ladies to give back to Hardy Middle School. I spent just a short period there in Jr. High before my family moved and I to attend another school. However, I still have a heart for Hardy. I remember Dr. F. Bridges from many years back at JSU. It was also good seeing Mrs. Course and her daughter still being very active in the community. Great job guys!
