Blackburn Students have a Blast Planting for Spring Harvest
Over 90 students from Blackburn Middle School helped plant vegetables in the learning garden this week. JSU obtained a mini grant from the Mississippi Farm to School Network to help purchase the plants and soil for the event.
Students worked with community volunteers, Patty Patterson and Tim White, to plant several plants. They planted squash, green peppers, jalapenos, tomatoes, and sunflowers.
Blackburn students will host a student-led farmers market in May, selling the produce from the Spring harvest. Take a look at the photos from today.

Awesome! The students minds grows as the garden grows!
