MLK Make A Difference Day at Jackson Zoo, Monday

In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Zoo Area Progressive Partnership (ZAPP) along with other area partners invite you to join us on January 18, 2021 for “a day on, not a day off. Neighbors, businesses and volunteers will continue the work begun in October on Make a Difference Day when we began cleaning up Capitol Street, from 1-220 to The Jackson Zoo from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.
What we are doing:
- Coordinating a clean sweep focusing specifically on the Capitol St/ Ellis Ave intersection and Parkside Place to Woodrow Wilson on Monday January 18.We are expecting 40+ volunteers.
- Recruiting volunteers to pick up trash, clean sidewalks, trim curbs, fence lines and walkways, install the second part of an art project near the Zoo.
- Providing tools, gloves, garbage bags, dumpster, etc. to get the job done
