Farmers’ Market at Battlefield Park opens this Saturday

This Saturday, October 27th from 8 am to 12 pm, the Battlefield Park Farmers’ Market will open for its first season.  The Farmers’ Market is an initiative of Jump Start Jackson Project sponsored by My Brother’s Keeper, Inc (MBK).

“This season brings fresh food grown by our local farmers to the community,” said Jammie Collins, MBK Project Coordinator. “The market is promoting safe and healthy family programming. Future activities will include children’s games, crafts, and cooking demonstrations.”

Jump Start Jackson Project partners include My Brother’s Keeper, Jackson State University – Center for University Based-Development, MS Department of Health, Jackson Inner-City Gardens, MS Association of Cooperatives, City of Jackson – Department of Parks and Recreation.
