On Monday evening, West Jackson will welcome many elected officials. Although these officials will not be in the same place, it is an opportunity for you to voice any positive or negative concerns happening in your neighborhood.

Congressman Bennie Thompson will be speaking on legislation affecting the state and city on Monday, August 25th at 5:30 pm in the MetroCenter Mall. The meeting will be held at the MetroCenter Mall Events Center located at the first floor entrance near the City of Jackson entrance. District 28 Mississippi Senator, Sollie B. Norwood will also discuss legislation passed in the 2014 Regular Session that affects the state. The congressman and senator will answer questions during the event. The forum is free and open to the public.

In addition to this meeting, Mayor Tony Yarber will be hosting his “We Are Jackson Listening Tour,” at the Jackson Zoo at 6pm. This tour gives Jacksonians the opportunity for their ideas and solutions to be heard. This event is free and open to the public.
