Cruising the Community is an event that promotes the usage of the Dr. Robert Smith Sr. Parkway. The Parkway has biking and walking trails on it and is a safe place for people to walk and bike. Cruising the Community is a half day event encouraging children to use the spaces around the JSU Campus to bike and walk.

The event is set for Friday, July 31st, from 8am-Noon. The event will start and end at the Walter Payton Center and children are encouraged to bring out any mobile device to ride on this day. They can ride bikes, scooters, skateboards, skates, wagons, and strollers. They also have the option to walk.

On this day children will receive free helmets, free books, and free lunch. Dr. Robert Smith Sr. will be in attendance as well as the Mayor, Tony T. Yarber.

The event is free and open to the public and made possible by the sponsors listed below.

We are in need of more sponsors and volunteers. We are asking that all children, volunteers, and vendors register at http://www.cruisingthecommunity.eventbrite.com. If it rains on this day, the event will be held inside the Walter Payton Center.
