Z.A.P.P. Receives a $4,000 Dollar Grant
The Zoo Area Progressive Partnership (ZAPP) received a $3,000 dollar grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank. The grant is a 3 to 1 match with BankPlus and they gave $1,000 dollars to support the efforts of ZAPP. Today was the check presentation from Federal Home Loan Bank and included greetings from Mayor Tony Yarber and other Zoo board members.
Two other organizations were also recipients of grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank; The Mississippi Minority Business Alliance, Inc. for $16,000 dollars and the Central Mississippi Housing and Development Corporation for $12,000 dollars. In total, Federal Home Loan Bank gave a total of $32,000 dollars to local non-profits.
ZAPP was founded in 1995 and Marcia Reed is the President. The purpose of ZAPP is to improve the appearance of the main corridor to the Jackson Zoo, which is from I-220 to the Jackson Zoo.
They will use the grant dollars to plant trees along the corridor of the Zoo, paint traffic signal boxes in the area, and continue to beautify the area around the Zoo.
Great Job ZAPP … We see you in our community and we love you for it. Congrats!
Thanks for the comment.
