Play Streets Jackson is sponsored by the City of Jackson and is a program that encourages neighborhood organizations and residents to temporarily close off residential streets and provide families with pop-up play spaces to safely come together and get active.

Moving traffic off a street for even a few hours helps us all remember that streets are for people.

How to plan a Play Streets event:

Select the Street
Play Streets are limited to one residential block, and cannot include an intersection.

Choose a date

Play Streets can take place during daylight hours any day of the week and the program is available from 6/15/16 to 9/30/16.

Brainstorm activities

You determine the programming at Play Streets! Check the Play Streets Jackson application for a list of suggested ideas.

Gather signatures from residents on the block.

Recruit volunteers.
