USDA Forest Service Training Program

Are you a lawn care or landscaping professional looking to increase your income and expand your services? This is your opportunity to grow your business and step into the tree care industry — at no cost to you.

The Center for Social Entrepreneurship (CSE), in partnership with Jackson State University and supported by the USDA Forest Service, is launching a grant-funded Arborist Training Program designed to help local professionals gain valuable, in-demand skills.

What You’ll Gain

Participants in this program will receive: Arborist skills and hands-on training, Opportunities to earn more income, A clear pathway into tree care jobs, and Tools and knowledge to support long-term business growth

No prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn and grow.

Who Should Apply, This program is open to: Lawn care providers, Landscaping contractors, Tree trimmers and debris workers Anyone interested in expanding into tree care services

Program Details

Cost: FREE (Grant funded by the USDA)

Location: West Jackson & surrounding areas

Start Date: Classes begin March 2026

This training is designed to strengthen the local workforce while opening doors to new revenue streams for small businesses and independent contractors.
